Last week I uncovered this amazing collection on online marketing statistics on Kapost. It’s a huge list so I’ve spend some time pulling out the handful of most relevant ones for online video for marketing.  In about 60 seconds you can blaze through these stats and have a better handle on how video is being used for marketing for business in 2015:

People spend more than 50% of their time online looking at content.

Consumer€™s' average attention span is 8 seconds. That's 1 second less than a goldfish. Dropping 4 seconds since 2000.

According to a semi-annual report from and Digiday, 86% of brands will increase their video ad spend in the next year alone.

The top three most widely adopted content marketing tactics are videos (87%), website articles (86%), and in-person events (85%).

Three-quarters (75%) of executives said they watch work-related videos on business-related websites at least weekly; more than half (52%) watch work-related videos on YouTube at least weekly.

67% of marketers plan on increasing their YouTube marketing.

Marketers are forecasted to increase total digital marketing spend to 35% of total budgets by 2016.

By 2017, online video will make up nearly 70% of consumer Internet traffic.
