Video Production Helps Convert Sales

Video: she’s sneaky but she doesn’t lie. If seeing is believing – and if part of what you’re selling is trust – then seeing seems pretty important!  If a prospect can see you and your happy clients, hear what they have to say, that can go a long way to building trust….and ultimately sales. Check out this video we just produced for San Francisco video game and app testing service SWRVE. I think it’s a great example of how video production can cost effectively be used to help clients get to know you and hear your story.

SWRVE approached us with a simple problem…

SWRVE had already produced a video for their site. While the animated video was cool and did a great job of explaining what they do, it didn’t exactly put a human face on the company. SWRVE wanted to use video production to help clients see who they were in person, what they were all about, and form their own impressions. I think it’s a great example of how video can serve as a window into the soul of a company. Don’t you feel like you ‘get them’ now?

There are plenty of statistics floating around about how video can help convert, but if you do a search for ” sales conversion using video” you can see many example of big increases in conversions by using video.  I’ve seen stats that show that people who view a video on a site are 30% more likely to buy from that vendor. So, why is that?

We humans are visual animals and we pick up on a lot of nuance by observing, whether we realize we do or not. Viewers can develop a sense of trust just by ‘meeting’ your company in a video. If done right, you’ll come across more likable and human. Not just a faceless corporate website. Your clients will likely feel more comfortable because the element of the unknown has been mitigated. They may feel like they know who you are – and they’ll probably like you more. People buy from people they like.

If a picture says a thousand words – and since video runs at 24-60 frames per second -that means that video ‘says’ somewhere between 1,440,000 and 3,600,000 words per minute! How else can you get all that information into your clients head without making it really annoying or painful?

No matter what your role is, your job is to make it easy for customers to like and believe in your company. Video is a powerful tool that you can now use to help you do just that. Show the world who you are, tell them your story and you’ll help them be more comfortable doing business with you.

So lets hear from you: Are you ready to tell your story with video? Are you concerned about video production costs? Are you unfamiliar with the video production process? What other concerns or barriers might you have?
